It is my great honor to serve this state as the dean of engineering at UNL – the only college of engineering in Nebraska. During this centennial year of our existence, while we have much to be proud of in the college today, I wasn’t driving most of the way.
Indeed, I am the 13th dean of this college, which should give you some idea of the extraordinary people who have driven engineering education in this state for the past 100 years. I speak to you today on behalf of more than 150 faculty who have entrusted their careers to this institution, and countless others before them.

Together we have provided the people of Nebraska with thousands of engineers in our 100-year history. Thanks to your generosity we are poised to address a broad range of technical challenges that face this state in the next century.
