Joel Nielsen, graphics specialist/project coordinator for the University of Nebraska State Museum, places a mountain lion mount into position in the redesigned diorama in the Nebraska Hall of Wildlife. The mountain lion (pictured below in the redesigned exhibit) was donated by Nebraska Game and Parks. It was killed on Nov. 6, 2005 by traffic on Interstate 80. School of Natural Resources scientists used a claw from the cat to indicate its travels from the Black Hills in South Dakota to Nebraska along the Missouri or Elkhorn river.
