Vivaldi, Lincoln Symphony Orchestra

The Lincoln Symphony Orchestra will bring the magical world of composer of Antonio Vivaldi to life when it performs the live concert version of Classical Kids' Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery at 3 p.m. April 10 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Vivaldi's Ring of Mystery tells the story of a gifted young orphan named Katarina who is sent to study music at the Pieta orphanage in Venice. There, she comes under the tutelage of the famous music director and composer Antonio Vivaldi.

In addition to learning from a great composer, she is befriended by Giovanni, a colorful gondolier.

With his help, Katarina searches through the thrilling but mysterious atmosphere of Carnival and the Island of the Dead for clues to her past and a vanishing Stradivarius violin. In a touching final scene, a masked stranger unites Katarina with her family, and she must choose between staying with Vivaldi and her music or going out into the world.

Tickets are available at the Lincoln Symphony Orchestra box office, 476-2211 or the Lied Center Box Office, 472-4747. Tickets prices for students are: $3/$4/$6, and adult tickets are: $6/$8/12.
