Classical ballet parody plays at Lied Jan. 25

A parody on the classical ballet will be performed by Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo at the Lied Center for Performing Arts, 7:30 p.m. Jan. 25.

Les Ballets Trockadero de Monte Carlo is a professional all-male ballet company founded in 1974 in New York City. The troupe got its start with an off-off Broadway show presenting a comedic parody of traditional ballet. The "Trocks" perform a variety of ballet and modern dance repertoire. Though now a major dance draw, their original concept has not changed since its foundation.

Paul Pearson and Courtney Piccoli will present a pre-performance talk at 7 p.m. in the Lied's Steinhart Room. Seating is limited. Also, the Trocks' artistic director Tory Dorbin will present a post-production discussion in the main hall.
