The play, which opens at the Haymarket Theatre, 803 Q St., is about four different couples on dates that converge at one coffee house. Written and directed by Amy Lechtenberg, "Date Auction" is the first of two Theatrix plays to premiere at the Haymarket Theatre this spring.

Performances are 7:30 p.m. Feb. 8; 10 a.m., 7:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. Feb. 9; and 2 p.m. Feb. 11. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and children. Reservations can be made at www.unl.edu/theatrix.

Theatrix was created in the early 1990s to provide students with opportunities to apply their theater techniques in a practical setting.
