MFA thesis exhibit opens March 26

The first of two exhibitions featuring Master of Fine Arts candidates from the Department of Art and Art History opens March 26 at the Eisentrager•Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

The exhibition includes MFA candidates Eric Anderson, Caitlin Applegate, Michael Burton, Jesse Ross and Justin Shaw.

Special gallery hours for the MFA Thesis Exhibitions are noon to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Anderson's thesis is "Simple Complexity." His work circulates around the discourse between high art and low art forms. He is the recipient of the Richard Trickey Memorial Scholarship at UNL in 2005 and 2006. His recent exhibitions include "Whatchamathingy" at the Rotunda Art Gallery at the Nebraska Union in 2006.

The second MFA Thesis Exhibition is April 9-18. It will include MFA candidates Wendy Bantam, Jennifer Brant, Xiaomiao Wang and Rhonda Willers.

A reception will be 5 to 7 p.m. April 13 in the gallery.
