Miller will offer "Glory Box" on Oct. 9 and "Us" on Oct. 17. Bother performances are at 7:30 p.m. in the Lied Center's Johnny Carson Theater.

"Glory Box" is a funny, sexy, and charged exploration of Miller's journeys through the challenge of love, gay marriage, and the struggle for immigration rights for gay people and their partners. From Miller's hilarious grade school playground battles over wanting to marry another boy to the harrowing travails of being in a bi-national relationship with his Australian lover, "Glory Box" leads the audience on a journey into the complexity of the human heart. "Glory Box," a term that Australians use for "hope chest," offers an alternative site for the placing of memories, hopes, and dreams of gay people's potential for love.

"Us" is a fast, funny and furious romp through Miller's love affair with Broadway musicals to an exploration of gay marriage and the issues gay men and women face in the United States.

Miller's performances have been presented all over North America and Europe. Since 1990, Miller has taught performance in the theater department at UCLA and the dance program at Cal State Los Angeles. He is a co-founder of the performance spaces Performance Space 122 on Manhattan's Lower East Side and Highways Performance Space in Santa Monica, Calif.

Tickets for the Lied Center performances are $22, half price for students with a valid NCard. For more information, go online to www.liedcenter.org or call 472-4747.

While in Lincoln, Miller will also work with local individuals to create an original piece of performance theater. He is specifically looking for 15 adults (18 years or older) to participate. No previous performance experience is necessary.

The first rehearsal is Oct. 10 from 7 to 10 p.m. in the Johnny Carson Theater. The piece will be performed for the public at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 19 in the Johnny Carson Theater. For more information, contact Laura Kendall at lkendall2@unl.edu or 472-4700.
