Mozart, lives of women movies open Nov. 9 at the Ross

Movies exploring the lives of Wolfgang Mozart and women from around the globe open Nov. 9 at the Mary Ripema Ross Media Arts Center.

In "Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman," Jennifer Fox chronicles the lives of women from around the world.

The film spans four years and 17 countries as Fox explores the lives of women from New York to India to South Africa. From the biological clock to sex to death, no topic is taboo.

Fox will attend screenings of her film for question and answer sessions with audiences at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9 and 10, and at 1 p.m. Nov. 11.

Also opening Nov. 9 is "In Search for Mozart" is the first major feature length documentary about the composer's life. The film follows Mozart's many journeys through Europe, and has been hailed by Mozart scholars as the definitive film about the composer.

"In Search for Mozart" features Renée Fleming and Magdalena Kozená. It is narrated by Juliet Stevenson.

"In Search of Mozart" and "Flying: Confessions of a Free Woman" play through Nov. 15 at the Ross.

Also showing at the Ross through Nov. 8 are "In the Shadow of the Moon" and "Lust, Caution."
