Women artists lecture is March 4

On March 4, Sharon Kennedy, curator at Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery, will present a lecture and slideshow on the contributions of 12 women artists to Nebraska's early history. The presentation will begin at 5:30 p.m. in the Ethel S. Abbott Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public. A brief reception will follow the lecture.

Kennedy began her research on Nebraska women artists as part of her master's thesis in museum studies with an emphasis in art history at UNL. Her manuscript was published in the fall 2007 issue of Nebraska History. She has also created a four-minute podcast about her work available at www.sheldon.unl.edu.
