Woods Fund approves grants for diversity curriculum, magazine

The Department of Child, Youth and Family Studies received $10,000 toward the creation of UNL Extension’s “Seeing i-2-I Adventures in Cultural Awareness and Diversity.” The curriculum aims to promote cultural understanding and interaction among middle school students.
The Sheldon Museum of Art received a $7,500 challenge grant to support the launch of a new biennial magazine. The magazine is being designed to promote the Sheldon’s new vision and philosophy statewide.
The awards were among $257,000 in grants distributed by the Woods Charitable Fund in the first grant cycle of 2011. For more information, go to www.woodscharitable.org.
