Auditions set for Lewis, Clark event

The Department of Theatre Arts’ Nebraska Repertory Theatre will produce Ink And Elkskin, the Nebraska Lewis and Clark Bicentennial signature event, July 31 through Aug. 4 in Omaha.

The 45-minute one-act drama written by Chicago playwright Carson Grace Becker for this event is about the first Tribal Council meeting. Roles are available for one Native American late-teenage woman and 14 men. Of the 14 male roles, five will play Native American tribal leaders, one will portray an African-American slave, five will play European American privates, and the roles of Meriwether Lewis, William Clark and Frenchmen La Liberte. All roles are salaried with Equity roles available.

Auditions will take place along with the regular season Nebraska Repertory Theatre auditions Jan. 15 and 16. Sign-up sheets for time slots are available in the Howell Theatre Lobby, Temple Building.
