‘Roses are Red’ at Lied’s Vinton show

Vocalist Bobby Vinton will give a Valentine’s Day performance at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 14 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

Vinton, called “the all-time most successful love singer of the ‘rock era’” by Billboard magazine, continues his 40-year career by headlining shows in Atlantic City and Las Vegas and playing dates around the world at least 20 weeks per year. His hits over the years have included the love songs “Roses Are Red,” “Blue Velvet” and “Mr. Lonely.” From 1962 and 1972, Vinton had more No. 1 hits than any other male vocalist.

Tickets for this performance are $40, $35 and $30; tickets are half-price for university students and those 18 and under with identification. Call the Lied box office at 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 for tickets.
