Now’s the time to renew parking permits

Faculty and staff may now renew their parking permits for the 2004-2005 academic year.

Renewals may be placed by visiting http://parking.unl.edu, clicking on the “Faculty/Staff Parking Permit/Bus Pass Order” button and completing the form at the link. Renewals may also be placed by phone at 472-0866 or in person after June 1 at the Parking office in the Stadium Drive Parking Garage.

In the fall, a separate permit will be required for those wishing to park in the 17th and R Street garage or the new garage at 14th and Avery streets. Those with surface permits for parking lots numbered 10 and 17 can park in these garages between 4 p.m. and midnight.

This year, validation stickers will be used instead of issuing new parking hangtags. Please place the new stickers on the current hangtags.

Anyone interested in purchasing a permit for a reserved parking lot (17 lots) should request these permits by May 14. After that date, these requests will not be considered until Sept. 7. Requests will be assigned as close as possible to the address the employee indicates as a work address on the permit request. Space is limited.

Bus passes will be issued at no charge to those buying parking permits upon request. Those who do not have parking permits may buy a bus pass from Parking and Transit Services for $10 per month. This may be paid through payroll deduction.

The prices for parking permits and bus passes for faculty and staff are at left.

For information, call 472-1800 or visit http://parking.unl.edu.
