Undergrad's photography exhibits at Uni Place Art Center in April

The art of photography will be celebrated during the month of April at University Place Art Center.

In the Lux Historical Gallery, a special showing of work by a BFA candidate from UNL will take place. Catherine Meier developed A Time To Speak through the UCARE program (Undergraduate Creative Activities and Research Experiences) with the mentoring of Dana Fritz. A Time To Speak, a video/mixed media project, began as an effort to address issues central to the changing rural life and culture. It became a statement on the all-encompassing circumstances of two people caught up in the destructive web of meth addiction.

The opening reception for all exhibitions will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. April 1.

University Place Art Center is open to the public Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and is free.
