'Movies on the Green' features classics for free

The stars will shine once more on the UNL campus during the annual Jensen's Cinema 16 Collection series, "Movies on the Green," presented by the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center and the University Program Council.

Screening are on six consecutive Thursday evenings, July 7 to Aug. 11 and feature The Blue Lagoon directed by Randal Kleiser (1980), A Clockwork Orange by Stanley Kubrick (1971), The Revenge of Frankenstein by Terrance Fisher (1958), The Heartbreak Kid by Elaine May (1972), and American Grafitti by George Lucas (1973).

All of the screenings are presented on the grass in front of Kimball Recital Hall located at 12th and R streets. Screenings are free and open to the public and begin at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.). Popcorn and soda is sold at the screenings.

The remaining Movies on the Green schedule is: July 14 - The Blue Lagoon by Randal Kleiser (1980), 104 minutes, rated R); July 21 - A Clockwork Orange (136 minutes, rated R); July 28 - The Revenge of Frankenstein (90 minutes, not rated); Aug. 4 - The Heartbreak Kid, (106 minutes, rated PG); and Aug. 11 - American Graffiti, (110 minutes, rated PG).
