Patrick Rowan retrospective opens Sept. 6

An exhibition featuring the art of Patrick Rowan, professor emeritus at UNL, opens Sept. 6 at the Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall.

The exhibit, Patrick Rowan Retrospective 1970-2005, continues through Oct. 6. An opening reception will be held 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sept. 9.

After receiving his masters in sculpture from the University of Florida, Rowan spent four years as an architectural designer before he turned to the visual arts, joining the faculty of UNL in 1971. He retired in 2002.

His work consists mainly of wood, canvas and paint assemblages.

Gallery hours are Monday through Thursday, noon to 5 p.m. Admission is free.
