Baby Needs Shoes to open Lied's Free at 6

On Sept. 16, Lincoln's own Baby Needs Shoes will present a free public concert as part of the Lied Center for Performing Arts' Free at 6 series. The concert will begin at 6 p.m. and weather permitting, will be held outside at the Friends of Lied Plaza, directly to the north of the Lied Center. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held on the Lied Center's main stage.

Baby Needs Shoes is a vocal trio comprised of the voices, instrumentals, and comedic antics of Terri Jo Dodson, Nancy Marshall, and Melodee Landis. These Lincoln performers have combined three individual solo careers into a performance group that takes you on an entertaining musical journey through memories of the World War II era, contemporary tunes, humorous songs, and their own original compositions.

Free at 6 was created to recognize and celebrate the range of artistic talent in the community and to open the doors of the Lied Center to a wider audience. Free at 6 programs, 45 minutes in length, will give local artists a venue to build support for their art while encouraging the participation of new audiences.

The rest of the 2005-2006 Free at 6 events are: Kusi Taki on Oct. 21; C.A. Waller on Nov. 15; Grupo Folklórico Sangre Azteca on Jan. 20; Gospel Mass Choir on Feb. 3, and Paul Haar on March 27.
