The Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center and the University Program Council are offering the annual Jensen's Cinema 16 Collection Movies on the Green series through Aug. 17.
The series - which is free and open to the public - opened July 14 and continues July 20 with "In Cold Blood," a 1967 drama based on Truman Capote's novel on a Kansas murder case.
Other Movies on the Green include: July 27 - "Mr. Smith Goes to Washington" (1939), directed by Frank Capra; Aug. 3 - "The Collector" (1965), directed by William Wyler; Aug. 10 ' "Goldfinger," (1965), directed by Guy Hamilton; and Aug. 17 - "The French Connection" (1971), directed by William Friedkin.
All screenings are presented on the grass north of Kimball Recital Hall, beginning at dusk (approximately 9 p.m.).
Popcorn and soda are sold at the screenings. Film commentary written by Jensen's Cinema 16 Collection donor Jerry Jensen will be provided free of charge.
