Oscar short film nominees play campus

Oscar nominees in the short film categories will play at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center from March 2-15.

The nominees made up the short animation, live action and documentary short categories of the 79th annual Academy Awards. The presentations are divided into the three categories with a separate admission required for each.

The Live Action Short Films screening (99 minutes) includes: "Binta and the Great Idea," "Eramos Pocos (One Too Many)," "Helmer and Son," "The Saviour" and "West Bank Story."

The Animated Short Films screening (77 minutes) includes Academy Award nominees "The Danish Poet," "Lifted," "The Little Matchgirl," "Maestro" and "No Time for Nuts." Five other animated shorts not nominated for the Academy Award are included in the show. Those shorts are "A Gentleman's Dual," "Guide Dog," "One Rat Short," "The Passenger" and "Wraith of Cobble Hill."

The Documentary Shorts screening (135 minutes) includes "The Blood of Yingzhou District," "Recycled Life," "Rehearsing a Dream" and "Two Hands."
