Moon missions documentary opens Oct. 26

The only humans to have set foot on another world discuss their voyages in the documentary, "In the Shadow of the Moon," opening Oct. 26 at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.

Between 1968 and 1972, nine American spacecraft journeyed to the moon, with 12 men walking upon its surface. "In the Shadow of the Moon" brings together the surviving crew members from each Apollo mission to the moon, weaving their stories with archival footage.

Participating astronauts include Jim Lovell (Apollo 8 and 13), Dave Scott (Apollo 9 and 15), John Young (Apollo 10 and 16), Gene Cernan (Apollo 10 and 17), Mike Collins (Apollo 11), Buzz Aldrin (Apollo 11), Alan Bean (Apollo 12), Edgar Mitchell (Apollo 14), Charlie Duke (Apollo 16) and Harrison Schmitt (Apollo 17).

"In the Shadow of the Moon" (rated PG for mild language, brief violent images and incidental smoking) plays at the Ross through Nov. 8.
