From the Archives - Herbert R. Johnson

Former Saturday Evening Post cartoonist and University of Nebraska student, Herbert R. Johnson, drew this vision of a turkey's dream for the Nov. 20, 1900 edition of the Arrow-Head, a student publication.



 


 
Born in Sutton, Neb., Johnson attended the University of Nebraska in the early 1900s. His cartoons were published in the Daily Nebraskan, the Cornhusker annual and the Arrow-Head.

Johnson also attended Columbia University and worked as a cartoonist at the Saturday Evening Post from 1912 to 1941. His work was also featured in a variety of newspapers and magazines nationwide.
