Perlman headlines Prague Symphony concert March 4

Pianist Navah Perlman returns to the Lied Center stage March 4 with the Prague Symphony Orchesta in an all-Beethoven program.

The concert begins at 7:30 p.m. Scheduled works are the Leonore Overture No. 3; Concerto No. 3 in C Minor for Piano and Orchestra, Op. 37; and Symphony No. 5 in C Minor, Op. 67. Perlman will perform as a guest artist on the Concerto No. 3.

The symphony, is directed by Rastislav Stur.

Founded in 1934 the Prague Symphony first built its reputation recording music for Czech films and in live radio broadcasts. The orchestra has toured internationally since 1957

Navah Perlman has established herself as one of the most poetic and admired pianists of her generation. She has performed to critical acclaim in major concert venues throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Perlman studied at the Juilliard School and holds an honors degree in art history from Brown University. She has performed twice previously at the Lied Center.

Larry Lusk, former dean of the Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts and Emeritus Professor of Piano, will give a pre-performance talk in the Lied's Steinhart Room 30 minutes prior to curtain.
