British Festival to include UNL choirs, band

The Lied Center for Performing Arts continues a British Festival with a Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra concert, 7:30 p.m. April 22.

Under the direction of Edward Polochick, the performance will include "Pomp and Circumstance," Military March No. 1 in D Major. Op. 39 by Edward Elgar; "Enigman Variations," Op. 36 by Elgar; and "Belshazzar's Feast," by William Walton.

UNL choral groups, members of the UNL marching band and vocalist Jubilant Sykes will join the orchestra for "Belshazzar's Feast."

William Stibor of NET Radio will offer a pre-performance talk at 7 p.m. in the Lied's Steinhart Room. Seating is limited for the talk, which is part of the Lied's education programming.

The British Festival, organized by the Lied Center, celebrates the contributions of British Culture to the arts. Both composers featured are from Great Britian.
