OFFICIAL OPENING

The Extreme Light Laboratory, home of the Diocles laser, was officially dedicated during an Aug. 25 celebration. Pictured during the ribbon cutting are (from left) LeLand J. Olson, UNL physicist Donald Umstadter and U.S. Senator Ben Nelson. Umstadter holds the Leland J. and Dorothy H. Olson Chair. Funding for the endowed chair was provided by the Olsons and by Othmer Funds.
