Berens pens Hagel biography

University of Nebraska Press is offering four new books published by UNL faculty or alumni in September.

Charlyne Berens, associate professor in the College of Journalism and Mass Communications, has written "Chuck Hagel: Moving Forward," the first full-length biography of the Nebraska senator.

Berens - who earned master's and doctorate degrees at UNL - reveals Hagel's life and career, while addressing the question of his possible candidacy for U.S. president in 2008.

University of Nebraska Press also published in September three books by UNL alumni. Those books are: "Tales from the Journey of the Dead: Ten Thousand Years on an American Desert" by Alan Boyle; "The Floor of the Sky," a novel in the Press' Flyover Fiction series, by Pamela Carter Joerns; and "Mover of Bones" (also in the Flyover Fiction series) by Robert Vivian.
