'Nebraska Concerts' feature Lincoln performances

The upcoming "Nebraska Concerts" programs in January highlight performances recorded in Lincoln by NET Radio. The weekly series of fine music performed and recorded on Nebraska's stages airs 2 p.m. Sundays.

The Jan. 14 program comes from a concert by The American Chamber Players at the Lied Center for Performing Arts. The group led by Miles Hoffman plays Rossini's "Quartet No. 2 in A Major for flute and strings;" Henri Dutilleux's "Sonatine for flute and piano;" Dohnanyi's "Serenade in C Major for string trio, Op. 10;" Madeleine Dring's "Trio for flute, violin and piano;" and Mendelssohn's "Quartet in B Minor for piano and strings, Op. 3."

The Amadeus Trio is featured Jan. 21 with music from its Lincoln Friends of Chamber Music concert. The group performs Turina's "Piano Trio No. 2 in B minor, Op. 76;" Smetana's "Piano Trio in G minor, Op. 15;" and Mendelssohn's "Piano Trio in D minor, Op. 49."

On Jan. 28, Camerata Nordica, one of Sweden's leading chamber orchestras, performs in a concert that was part of the 2006 season's Abendmusik: Lincoln series. This "Nebraska Concerts" program features the the group's rendition of Handel's "Concerto Grosso, Op. 6, No. 1;" von Biber's "Sonata Jucunda;" Britten's "Variations on a Theme by Frank Bridge;" Sibelius's "Suite for Violin and Strings;" and Grieg's "Holberg Suite."
