Haydon Gallery hosts art quilts

The Haydon Art Center will host the American premier of the exhibit, "European Art Quilts IV," March 1-24. The exhibit coincides with the International Quilt Study Center's symposium, "Traditions and Trajectories: Education and the Quiltmaker," March 1-3.

A lecture, "Michael James: Comments on Art Quilt Makers in Europe," will be held from 5:30 to 7 p.m. March 22 a the Haydon Art Center, with a reception to follow.

Out of the high-quality entries, the international jury - consisting of six members - selected 50 works from 49 artists for the European exhibition. The exhibit includes a wide range of styles.
