PAPARAZZI LIFE - Michael Pitt (left) and Steve Buscemi react in this image from the movie, "Delirious," opening Oct. 12 at the Ross.

In "2 Days In Paris," first-time director Julie Delpy opens with a shot of lovers asleep on a fast train from Venice.

Delpy stars in the movie - which she also wrote and scored - as Marion, a Paris-born photographer who lives most of the year in New York with her boyfriend, Jack (Adam Goldberg), a shaggy, heavily tattooed interior designer.

Delpy intermittently narrates the movie in a voice that is partly hers and partly that of her neurotic, possibly autobiographical character.

After their Parisian jaunt the couple, both in their mid-30s, plan to return to New York. But their tumultuous sojourn in Paris throws into question the future of their volatile two-year relationship.

"2 Days In Paris," is rated R, for sexual content, some nudity and language, by the Motion Picture Association of America.

Also opening Oct. 12 at the Ross is "Delirious," by indie director Tom DiCillo.

"Delirious" stars Steve Buscemi as Les, a self-loathing New Yorker and papparazo whose brash exterior masks insecurity and personal disappointment.

Not entirely by accident, a dumb, sweet, homeless photographer (Michael Pitt) becomes an upaid intern for Les. Pitt's character then manages to connect with one of Les' subjects - a Britney Spears-esque singer.

Pitt falls in love with the singer's image and is swept into a VIP world where the camera mediates emotions.

"Delirious" is not rated.

Both "Delirious and "2 Nights In Paris" play through Oct. 25 at the Ross.
