Chiara to play Feb. 9 concert

The Chiara String Quartet will perform at 8 p.m. Feb. 9 at the Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery. The concert, presented by the Lincoln Friends of Chamber Music, includes two masterpieces by Franz Schubert.

The Chiara String Quartet has been Artists in Residence at UNL since 2005.

For the first half of the performance, Chiara will present Schubert's "Death and the Maiden." In the second half, the quartet will be joined by Norman Fischer, director of chamber music at the Tanglewood Music Center and professor of cello at Rice University, to play the String Quintet in C major.

A pre-performance talk will be offered at 7:30 p.m. After the concert, refreshments will be served and audience members will have the opportunity to meet the performers.

Tickets are $32 for adults and $8 for students. Members of NET Radio receive a $5 discount on adult tickets.
