Theatre offers acting classes for kids

The Department of Theatre Arts will offer Creative Drama and Acting classes for youth on Saturday mornings this spring. Dates of the classes are March 20 and 27 and April 3, 10, 17 and 24.

Classes for students in grades 2, 3 and 4 will be from 9 to 10:15 a.m. Grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 will meet from 10:30 to 11:45 a.m. All classes will meet on the third floor of Temple Building.

Creative Drama classes are designed for children with little to no experience in theater. The classes explore theater through the improvisation of stories, poems, legends and world events.

Acting classes are designed for students with experience in theater. Students will explore basic acting technique through the development of monologues and scenes for performance.

The classes cost $40 and payment is due March 17. For more information or to enroll, call Todd Cuddy at the Department of Theatre Arts at 472-2072.
