Kees event to benefit Libraries

Music, poetry, art and the work of Weldon Kees will be the focus of “Too Cool to Care: Weldon Kees with a San Francisco Beat,” a March 26 benefit event featuring an eclectic mix of performances.

The event begins at 7:30 p.m. in Kimball Recital Hall. Its purpose is to raise funds to purchase original sheet music manuscripts of Weldon Kees and his collaborator, Bob Helm, and will feature faculty and students from the UNL School of Music performing songs from that collection. Robert Knoll and Daniel Siedell will speak about Kees’ work.

Tickets at the door will cost $15 for the general public, $10 for seniors and $5 for students. For information, call 472-3939.
