President Milliken Travels West

University of Nebraska President J.B. Milliken, right, visits with members of the community and the university on Aug. 3 in North Platte. They are, from left, Michael Chipps, area president of Mid-Plains Community College; Bob Klein, UNL professor of agronomy at the West Central Research and Extension Center; and Mark Spurgin, a rancher from Paxton, Neb. Milliken began his presidency Aug. 1 by traveling across Nebraska from west to east to meet Nebraskans and refamiliarize himself and his family with the state. He returned to Lincoln on Aug. 5 to settle in to his office in Varner Hall and presided over the Board of Regents meeting on Aug. 6. Photo courtesy of the University of Nebraska.
