After a Weekend of Events, a New School Year Is Under Way

A full schedule of Big Red Welcome events organized by Student Involvement kicked off the 2004-05 school year from Aug. 20-22. Above: Head of Femur played to a crowd on the north plaza of the Nebraska Union on Saturday night; a pancake feed served by faculty and staff and a DJ dance followed the concert. At right: Students participate in a new version of the football team's traditional "tunnel walk" on Friday night. Officials created the students' version of the walk to welcome freshmen to their new lives at UNL. Sunday's events included New Student Convocation and the always popular Street Fair, which featured many giveaways, free food, booths and activities such as a rock-climbing wall.
