Theatre to offer classes for youth

UNL's Department of Theatre Arts' Outreach Program will once again offer drama and acting classes on six Saturday mornings this fall. Classes will be held Sept. 18 and 25, Oct. 9 and 23, Nov. 6 and 13 on the third floor of the Temple Building. Creative Drama for Youth and Acting classes designed for students in grades 2, 3 and 4 will be from 9-10:15 a.m. Creative Drama for Youth and Acting classes designed for students in grades 5, 6, 7 and 8 will be from 10:30-11:45 a.m.

Creative Drama classes are designed for those with little to no experience in theater. Students are taught to use their imaginations, senses, voices and bodies to develop skills in beginning acting. No play will be performed, but parents are invited to attend class on Nov. 13.

Acting for Youth is designed for those with previous experience in theater. Students will explore basic acting techniques and develop monologues and scenes for performance. Parents are invited to a performance on Nov. 13.

A one-time fee of $40 will be collected with registration. For more information or to enroll, call Todd Cuddy at 472-2072.
