Members of The Capitol Steps sing a tune about the Bush family. The group will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 28 at the Lied.

A group of congressional staffers who poke fun at the political establishment, The Capitol Steps take a bipartisan comedic look at Washington politics with numbers such as "You're So Vague," "Iraq Around the Clock" and "Sheik to Sheik."

Created in 1981 during the Reagan administration, The Capitol Steps were formed with the idea that if entertainers could become politicians, then politicians could become entertainers. Starting with co-founders Elaina Newport, Bill Strauss and Jim Aidala, the troupe now includes 22 cast members, five of whom appear on stage for each show.

The Steps have given more than 4,500 performances in 48 states. They have also recorded 23 albums and have been featured on every major TV network.

Tickets for this performance are $35/$30/$25; tickets are half-price for UNL students and those 18 and younger. Call the Lied ticket office at 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 for tickets.
