Lied hosts Magic School Bus Feb. 11

Scholastic's The Magic School Bus-Live! roars into the Lied Center for Performing Arts at 7 p.m. Feb. 11 with an original musical production. The show is based on Scholastic's award-winning television series seen on The Learning Channel and Discovery Kids Channel in the United States. The series is produced by Scholastic Entertainment and based on the best-selling Scholastic Inc. book-series by Joanna Cole and Bruce Degen.

The Magic School Bus-Live! is packed with music, discovery, and fun as Ms. Frizzle takes her class and the audience on two great adventures.

In "The Traveling Sound Show" something is wrong with the bus' horn and the kids, along with "the Friz" and the audience, learn about sound to uncover the problem. The audience then discovers the principles of "Recycling" with Ms. Frizzle's class and how our careful disposal of trash can save more than one beautiful area from becoming a dump - it can save the earth! With an original score and a live cast including "teacher extraordinaire" Ms. Frizzle, her reptilian sidekick Liz, reluctant Arnold, corny Carlos, and energetic Wanda - the production is filled with music, laughter, audience participation, and education presented as only The Magic School Bus can. It promises to be a exciting time for the entire family.

Expanding on the family atmosphere, the Lied Center will host LiedFamFest beginning at 5:30 p.m. Everyone with tickets to the show can come early for this family-friendly party with free food and pop, entertainment and activities. LiedFamFest is sponsored by Pepsi-Cola, Runza Restaurants, and Time Warner Cable.

Tickets for the show are $12; half-price for students and children under 18. Call the Lied ticket office at (402) 472-4747 or (800) 432-3231 for ticket availability.
