To Annie...

Annie Crimmins watches as Poet Laureate Ted Kooser autographs a book for her at an event Feb. 8 prior to his reading as part of the Nebraska Lectures. A crowd of more than 1,300 filled the Lied Center to hear Kooser, a professor in the Department of English, who was named U.S. Poet Laureate last August. Prior to the reading, Kooser was presented with a key to the city of Lincoln by Mayor Coleen Seng. He also participated in an on-stage conversation with UNL Chancellor Harvey Perlman and NU President James B. Milliken. The event was cosponsored by the Office of the Chancellor, the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, the City of Lincoln and numerous other organizations, including the Nebraska Humanities Council.
