'Faculty at 5' begins with first 'Free at 6!'

A new program called "Faculty at 5" will allow UNL faculty to mingle prior to "Free at 6!" concerts at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

The no-host, Faculty at 5 is open to faculty and academic administrators to socialize during a cocktail hour starting at 5 p.m. on days of Free at 6! events. Cost is $5 and includes one drink (wine, beer or soft drink) and some snacks. Additional drinks can be purchased separately. Spouses and significant others are welcome to attend.

The Oct. 21 Faculty at 5 will be in the Carson Theater The Van Brunt Visitors Center will host all others.

Free at 6! concert dates are: Oct. 21 - Kusi Taki (South American traditional folk music); Nov. 15 - C.A. Waller (acoustic bluesman); Jan. 20 - Grupo Folklorico Sangre Azteca (dedicated to the preservation of Hispanic culture); Feb. 3 - Gospel Mass Choir; and March 27 - Paul Harr (saxophonist).

Faculty at 5 and Free at 6! are sponsored by the Academic Senate, Office of the Chancellor and Office of the Senior Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
