Heartney to speak at UNL
The Hixson-Lied College of Fine and Performing Arts and Medici Group Visiting Artist Series is sponsoring the second speaker in this second year series.
Eleanor Heartney is an internationally published art critic, a contributing editor to Art in America, and the author of "Critical Condition: American Culture at the Crossroads," "Postmodernism" and "Aaron Fink: Out of the Ordinary."
Heartney will present "Postmodern Heretics: The Catholic Imagination in Contemporary Art," at 5 p.m., Nov. 17.
An open critique with Heartney and graduate MFA candidates is from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Nov. 18 on the second floor of Richards Hall. The critique is open to the public.
At 4 p.m. Nov. 18, Heartney will present the keynote address for the opening reception of "Singular Expressions" at Sheldon Memorial Art Gallery.
A symposium on Singular Expressions will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 19 at the Sheldon. The symposium is free to UNL students. Registration is required.
