Best picture nominee 'Capote' continues to show at the Ross

Nominated for over 30 awards - including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor to Philip Seymour Hoffman - "Capote" is playing through Feb. 16 at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center.

"Capote" traces author Truman Capote's coverage of the 1959 murders of four members of a farm family in Holcomb, Kan. Capote believes the crime presents an opportunity to test his long-held theory that, in the hand of the right writer, non-fiction can be as compelling as fiction.

After the killers are caught, tried and convicted, Capote visits them in jail.

As he gets to know the murders, he realizes that what he thought would be a magazine article has grown into a book - which has become one of the greatest in modern literature.

Show times for "Capote" (rated R), "Darwin's Nightmare," and "The Syrian Bride." are available online at www.theross.org or by calling 472-5353.
