'Syrian Bride' plays through Feb. 16

"The Syrian Bride," a comedic drama tracing the marriage of a Druze woman from the Golan Heights, Israel, is playing at the Ross through Feb. 16.

Directed by Eran Riklis, "The Syrian Bride" tells the story of an Israeli woman who is engaged to marry a Syrian television star whom she has never met.

If she moves to Syria, however, she will never be able to return to her home.

Through the use of humor - ranging from absurd to deadpan - the film outlines the surprises that await the bride as she gets to the border and looks set to begin a new life away from everything she has ever known.
