Pinnel curates teapot exhibit

Pete Pinnel, professor of art, is curator of "The Art of the Teapot," an exhibition opening Sept. 1 at the Lux Center for the Arts.

Pinnel, an internationally recognized artist in ceramics, has gathered 40 contemporary teapots from around the world.

The exhibition will be in the main gallery of the Lux Center, and is accompanied by the "100 Cups" exhibition in the Lux's Folsom Gallery. "The Art of the Teapot" is on display from Sept. 1 to Oct. 28. The "100 Cups" exhibition is on display from Sept. 1-30.

An opening reception for both shows is 5 to 7 p.m. Sept. 1 at the Lux Center, 48th and Baldwin streets.
