'Rent' plays Oct. 17-18

"Rent," the Tony award and Pulitzer Prize-winning Broadway musical, plays at the Lied Center for Performing Arts Oct. 17-18.

"Rent" is set in the East Village of New York City and follows a group of young people learning to survive while finding their voice and living for today. Additional show information is available online at www.siteforrent.com.

A pre-performance talk will be offered at 7 p.m. Oct. 17 and 18 in the Lied Center's Steinhart Room. Jamie Ulmer, artistic director of the Community Players in Beatrice, will present the Oct. 17 discussion. Brad Buffum, production stage manager for the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film and Nebraska Repertory Theatre, will speak before the Oct. 18 performance.
