Theatrix serves up
"Popcorn," a dark comedy presented by Theatrix, the student production group in the Johnny Carson School of Theatre and Film, opens March 29 at the Haymarket Theatre, 803 Q St.
The production, directed by theatre and film sophomore Axel Arth, centers on Hollywood director Bruce Delamitri (played by Andrew Beck, a third-year graduate student) who just won an Oscar for his depiction of violence on the big screen. However, violence follows Delamitri home in the form of the "Mall Murders," Wayne and Scout (played by sophomores Sean Kloc and Kara Davidson).
"Popcorn" is intended for mature audiences.
Performances are at 7:30 p.m. March 29 and 31; 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. March 30; and at 2 p.m. April 1. Tickets are $7 for adults, $5 for students and children.
