Georgian folk dancers to perform Oct. 4 at the Lied

The Georgian State Dance Company, which has performed folk dances and music worldwide since 1945, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 4 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

The dance company was created to preserve the unique Georgian dance traditions while also sharing them with the world. The founders of the company combined the folk dances with the structure of classical dance to take them to another artistic level.

A pre-performance talk will be given 30 minutes before curtain in the Lied's Steinhart Room.

Tickets for this performance are $36, $26. Tickets are half-price for university students and those 18 and under. For tickets, go online to www.liedcenter.org or call 472-4747.
