White to lead Jan. 23 concert for elementary students

Nearly 4,000 elementary students will attend a free concert performed by Lincoln's Symphony Orchestra at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Jan. 23 at the Lied Center for Performing Arts.

The Young People's Concert will be led by Tyler White, associate professor and director of orchestral studies and programs at UNL. White is also resident conductor for LSO.

The program includes pieces from Mozart, Bach, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky, Stravinsky and Sousa. Featured soloist is trumpet player Jaime Tyser, the LSO's Young Artist winner.
