Great Plains hosts Valentine's Day event

The Great Plains Art Museum will host a Valentine's Day poetry reading at 7 p.m. Feb. 14.

The event features poets who contributed to "Nebraska Essence: An Anthology of Poetry." Poets tentatively scheduled to read are Marilyn Dorf, Charlene Neeley, Lucy Adkins, Kim Tedrow, Lorraine Duggin, Grace Bauer, Fred Zydek, Twya Hansen, Terry Oberst, Paul Dickey, Mike Skau, Marilyn Coffee and Rich Wyatt. "Nebraska Essence" editors, Greg Kosmicki and Mary Stillwell, will also offer readings.

The event is free and open to the public.

"Nebraska Essence" contains work of 82 contemporary Nebraska poets. The book is available from The Backwaters Press, www.thebackwaterspress.homestead.com.
