Melendez poetry reading March 12

Poet Maria Melendez will read from her latest work at 7:30 p.m., March 12 in 228 Andrews Hall. A book signing and reception will follow the reading. The events are free and open to the public.

Melendez teaches creative writing and multicultural literature at Utah State University. Her poetry, fiction and essays have appeared in Barrow Street, International Quarterly, Isotope, and Ecological Restoration. Her recent collection of poetry, "How Long She'll Last in this World," was published by the University of Arizona Press. The collection earned an honorable mention at the 2007 International Latino Book Awards.
