Artists Encouraged to Apply For Free at 6 Series

The Lied Center will continue its Free at 6 series for the 2005-06 season and is taking applications from Lincoln/Lancaster County artists interested in being featured in this series.

All disciplines of performance art will be considered for Free at 6. Individuals or groups are encouraged to apply. Artists need not be professionals, but are required to have a demonstrated ability as a performer (previous public performances or recordings). Free at 6 applicants will be asked to submit a sample of their performance on audiotape, CD, videotape, or DVD as well as a current resume and other publicity information with their application. There will not be live auditions. Interested artists can call the Lied Center at (402) 472-4700 for more information or visit the Lied Center's web site at www.liedcenter.org to download an application. Applications must be returned to the Lied Center or postmarked by 5 p.m. on March 1.

Free at 6 was created to recognize and celebrate the rich range of artistic talent in the community and to open the doors of the Lied Center to a wider audience. Free at 6 programs, 45 minutes in length, will give local artists a venue to build support for their art while encouraging the participation of new audiences.
