Filmmaker to appear at Ross

Filmmaker Kelley Baker will appear at a screening of his latest feature Kicking Bird at the Mary Riepma Ross Media Arts Center on Sept. 19.

Baker was the sound designer on six of Gus Van Sant's feature films including, My Own Private Idaho, Good Will Hunting, and Finding Forrester. He designed the sound on Todd Haynes' feature film, Far From Heaven. Baker has also written and directed three full-length features: Kicking Bird, The Gas Cafe (2001), and Birddog (1999).

He will be appearing at the 7 p.m. screening of Kicking Bird on Sept. 19 to show his film and discuss his work with the audience.
